Vision and Mission
We seek to empower victims and survivors of tragic or traumatic circumstance with emotional and/or practical support and resources to cope with the impact of crisis.
Kawartha Haliburton Victim Services is a non-profit organization comprised of staff and trained volunteers, working in partnership with Police, Emergency Services and other community agencies to provide immediate confidential assistance and referral services to victims and survivors of crime, trauma and tragic circumstances, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Kawartha Haliburton Victim Services objective is to lessen the trauma of those victimized, help them to cope with the immediate impact of the crime or tragic circumstance and encourage and support the victim(s) in contacting and connecting with other community services for additional counselling, financial assistance, housing, and medical or legal services as appropriate. Our service allows the immediate responders to continue their tasks and provides an opportunity for the community to become more involved in dealing with the effects of crime and mobilizing crime prevention initiatives.
